2026 Lady Gaga Tokyo Dome VIP Balcony Seat Review: The Mayhem Ball

by taiwanderjessica

Introduction

In early 2026, I embarked on a journey from Taipei to Tokyo, Tokyo to Vancouver, with the highlight being Lady Gaga’s The MAYHEM Ball at the Tokyo Dome. I was lucky enough to secure the rare Balcony Seats (VIP). In this post, I’ll share the view from these exclusive seats, the VIP lounge and bar experience, and a quick late-night sushi tip nearby!

This is my fourth Gaga concert, I was lucky enough to work backstage as runner in her Born this Way Ball concert in Taipei in 2012 so I enjoyed two wonderful nights. My third one was in Singapore in May 2025.

Getting to Tokyo Dome from Ginza

During my stay, I chose Dormy Inn Premium Ginza in East Ginza. It’s a fantastic base for shopping and hot springs.

  • Transport: From Ginza Station(M16), take the Marunouchi Line directly to Korakuen Station(M22). It’s only 6 stops and takes about 30 minutes door-to-door.
  • Pro Tip: Just follow the crowds and cross the pedestrian bridge; you’ll see the iconic Dome and its massive curved screens immediately.

Securing the Ticket: Balcony vs. SS Seats

I originally got tickets for SS Seats (¥29,945) using an overseas Mastercard. However, my partner managed to get Balcony Seats (¥30,945). For just an extra ¥1,000, you get a much more comfortable experience plus exclusive VIP gifts—it’s an incredible deal!

  • The 7-Eleven Pickup Process: > Unlike e-tickets in the US or Europe, Japan still heavily relies on physical tickets. We collected ours at a 7-Eleven inside Narita Airport (NRT). You simply show the confirmation number from your email to the clerk, and they print the tickets on the spot. It’s stress-free as long as you do it before heading to the Dome!

The VIP Entry Experience (Gate 30) Entering through Gate 30 felt truly premium. There was no queue, and we immediately exchanged our vouchers for VIP gift bags.

  • VIP Lounge & Bar: The atmosphere is modern and elegant. There’s a dedicated bar for snacks and drinks with very reasonable prices (e.g., Beer for ¥900, Soft drinks for ¥500). I highly recommend the Okinawan ice cream blue seal, ¥600 per cup.

The View: Balcony Seat Section 11 Our seats were in Section 11, Row 5 (the last row).

  • The View: Even though it’s the back row, each tier is significantly elevated, so the visibility is excellent. Being in the last row meant we only had two seats in our block—very private!
  • Facilities: Restrooms are located right behind the black curtains of the VIP Lounge, making it incredibly convenient during breaks.
  • Seat View Tip: You can use the Tokyo Dome 360° virtual map online to check the view from any seat—it’s very accurate!

Lady Gaga The Mayhem Ball 2026.1.29 Tokyo Dome

Happy to see the rainbow veil. Gaga continues to be a powerful voice for the LGBTQ+ community. It reminded me of 2012 when I worked as a staff member for her Taiwan show—seeing her perform “Hair” with the rainbow flag for the first time was unforgettable.

The Performance: Japan vs. Singapore I also attended the Singapore show in 2025. Here’s how they compared:

  • The Crowd: In 2017 (Coldplay), everyone in Japan stayed seated. This time for Gaga, people stood up occasionally. Since I’m not very tall, the tiered balcony seating saved me from being blocked by the crowd!
  • The Stage: The stage felt a bit small for the massive Dome, as it seemed to be the “Arena” tour setup.
  • The Vibe: Unlike the Singapore show, where fans wore extravagant costumes, the Japanese crowd was more reserved (partly because it was a freezing 2°C outside!). I even saw grandmas in casual wear enjoying the show!
  • Celebrity Sighting: I saw on Instagram later that J-Pop legend Ayumi Hamasaki was at the same show, seemingly in the same balcony section!

This is also the concert where Gaga condemns ICE and supports Americans.

VIP Gift Unboxing The VIP gift bag included a high-quality deck of playing cards and stickers—both Made in Japan.

Post-Concert Meal: Sushiro Korakuen

We headed to Sushiro (Korakuen Kasuga branch) right next to the Dome.

Google map

  • The Location: It’s less than an 8-minute walk from the Dome and stays open until 11:00 PM.
  • Smart Booking: You can actually use the Sushiro Taiwan App to book your table in advance for Japan!
  • The Experience: This is a fully automated “waiterless” shop. You check in at a kiosk and find your seat. The ordering screen is extra-long, allowing two people to browse the menu (available in English, Mandarin, Korean, and Japanese) at the same time.
  • Must-Try: Don’t skip their Custard Pudding—it’s legendary among sushi fans. They even serve lattes, which was perfect for warming up after the cold walk.

Conclusion

Securing a Balcony seat at the Tokyo Dome for Lady Gaga was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Between the VIP perks, the seamless transport from Ginza, and the late-night sushi run, it was the perfect Tokyo night. If you’re planning to see a concert in Japan, aiming for the Balcony tier is worth every extra Yen!
